Colten Bartholomew, junior communication technologies major, was awarded for his writing skills from the Associated Collegiate Press’ Best of the Midwest College Journalism Convention.

Bartholomew, current Sports Editor on the Exponent, received fourth place in sports writing for his article outlining the new Sparkles Cheerleading program hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

The entire Exponent staff received Best in Show for a weekly-published, tabloid-sized newspaper from a four-year college for the Nov. 1 issue of the Exponent.

Stories submitted were judged based on the quality of writing, and entire publications were judged based on visual appeal, style and overall quality of design and writing.

The members of the Exponent are proud to have such talented staff and writers as part of their team.
