According to a recent survey conducted by the Wisconsin Public Institute of Education, it is estimated that by 2016 the University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s gender ratio will be 6:1 in favor of women.

This statement was released to the UW-Platteville Faculty Senate during this month’s meeting.

The topic of gender diversity has been huge at the university and this just goes to show that women really do want to be farmers and engineers.

The fact that within a single decade the gender ratio will flip is extremely exciting for students, faculty and all staff at the university.

The director of student development, Marsha Brady, said that she has been working to accomplish this since she came here back in 1972.

“This is a very exciting time for the university,” Brady said. “Since I started here 42 years ago, our main goal has been to bring in more females each and every year and the fact that we will soon have six females to every one male is just amazing. I could not be happier for the men that are still going to be around.”

Speaking of the men at UW-Platteville, it is also estimated that each male will now maintain roughly 10-12 sexual partners in a given school year, thus leading to a boost in potential pregnancies.

Hingle McCringleberry, the head of the Platteville community board of advisors, said he is looking towards a positive future with the situation unfolding in the town he has grown to love.

“I believe that with all the women coming in, there will be a lot more sexual intercourse, producing more Plattevillians,

producing a stronger and more efficient community,” said McCringleberry. “The two main things that the university brings to this town is exceptional education and babies. And that’s the way it should be.”

A few adjustments throughout the university will be made with correlation to the increasing female population.

First of all the fraternity houses located on Main Street will double in size so they will able to have room for all the incoming freshman females and their infamous party habits.

Secondly, Melcher Hall will transform into a coed dorm for the first time in school history.

Horn Eguy, freshman Melchar Hall resident, expresses his attitude towards the changes.

“I thoroughly enjoy this transition because it finally gives me an opportunity to become a man and explore opportunities I never had the chance to pursue,” Eguy said.

UW-Platteville expects to see this gender ratio transformation over the next few years.
