Xelon Xusk’s Department of Government Efficiency has inspired the Antagonist staff to create its own Department of Accountability and Wasteful Governance, or DAWG for short. This department is focused on going around firing people for little to no reason or tweeting mean things about their jobs in the hopes that they’ll quit—in some misguided attempt to save money.
“This has nothing to do with any famous meme or internet slang,” a spokesperson said. “But if it was, that would be pretty cool, right?”
When no one responded, they stomped their foot and screamed, “Right?!”
DAWG has fired several key members of the Exponent team, including Isabelle Emerson, who was told that her job was “really easy” and that “any AI could post things on a website.”
“I mean, sure, any AI could do it, but they didn’t even ask for the password or how the website works,” Emerson said. “It isn’t hard to do, but it takes some time to figure out.”
Time DAWG didn’t seem to have—because shortly after, they tweeted at Emerson multiple times, asking her to come back and help them figure out the website.
As of now, it seems DAWG is still struggling to figure out what to do after firing everyone with the experience and knowledge to run things. Instead, they’ve reportedly blown through their budget on GigaTrucks, Hot Cheetos and video games they pay other people to play.
