Noah Kahan is still touring across America for “Stick Season” which came out Oct. 14, 2022, but blew up all over TikTok, especially last summer with the deluxe album coming out. “Stick Season” is the third album by Kahan and was nominated for several awards in recent years, and it is clear to see why.
“Stick Season” is mostly about loneliness, burnout and depression as Kahan sings about his struggles with mental health issues and his life in rural Vermont during the 2020 COVID-19 outbreak. And while he sings about rural Vermont, it resonates and connects with everyone everywhere, with his music being a folkishy pop with mostly guitar in the background. From being left behind by people you loved or trying to reconnect with who you were in the past, Noah Kahan’s music has a heartbreaking sadness and angst most people have felt in their lifetime. He also has hope in his songs about a better day and a better tomorrow that keeps reminding people that “all lights turned off, can be turned on.”
This album is great and is perfect to listen to on repeat during bad days.
