Sabrina Carpenter has been producing music and writing songs since 2011, well before her Disney career. She started to release albums in 2015, but it wasn’t until she opened Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour that her music really increased in popularity. Now she is nominated for “Artist of the Year” and “Best Pop Artist” in the Gold Derby Music Awards and has a few Grammy Award nominations. But is her album “Short n’ Sweet” worth the hype?
“Short n’ Sweet” is a pop album with a mix of other styles and music influences and is primarily focused on Carpenter’s dating life. It is a change from her previous albums like “Singular: Act II” which was more folky than poppy. This is mostly because she has grown and changed as an artist and has taken more control over her music. It is not hard to see why this music is on the radio all the time or filling up the TikTok feed. All of these songs are easy to sing along to, are very catchy and make people want to dance to them. Also, the music videos are fun to watch with the controversies and crazy “deaths” in them.
While it isn’t a personal favorite, it is great to listen to and is something that no one will hate if played on a road trip or if you need a break from holiday music.
