Poor Man’s Poison was formed in 2009 by childhood friends who wanted to create music. This led to them making three studio albums and one live album before they went on a break in 2014. However Poor Man’s Poison has recently made a huge come back and started to make music again, especially after they took over TikTok. This sudden popularity has caused people to go over their older work like “Providence,” which came out in 2014.
“Providence” was the last album before they went on break; it had many great songs like “Providence,” “Poor Man’s Poison” and “Pressure Cracks,” all of which have the sound that they are famous for. While it cannot be put into one category, it is primary an indie folk album with country, rock and pop flares to it. The music often has a message about the human condition and the struggles humans face every day.
This is a great album that can be listened to time and time again. The music is dark, edgy and catchy with good message and amazing lyrics.
