Filmed in San Francisco, the TV show “MythBusters” was on Discovery channel for 13 years showing millions of people amazing scientific experience and explaining science for everyone to understand. The show originally only followed Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, special effects experts that have work on major films like “Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones.”
The show follows a simple format: Savage and Hyneman discuss the myths they are going to be looking at in the episodes, then conduct tests and small-scale experiments before moving to a larger scale. The hour-long episodes would bounce back and forth between the myths. However, in later seasons, Savage and Hyneman were joined by three new cohosts, Kari Byron, Tory Belleci and Grant Imahara, who would take on one myth together. The team would take on historical myths like an ancient death ray, pop culture myths in movies or shows like how to outrun a zombie or just everyday questions people had about science and the world like how to keep a Christmas tree looking green.
The show isn’t that hard to get into, and people can always learn something new in each episode. Plus, with the fun themes in episodes like food myths, Simpsons myths, Star War episodes or holiday specials, there is something for everyone as well as guest stars coming in to help them like Barack Obama, Seth Rogen and Alton Brown.
