The UW-Platteville had their homecoming the week of Oct. 2-7. The theme this year was “Pete’s Road Trip” and groups participating were asked to choose a state to represent themselves.
The Homecoming Court, a tradition at UW-Platteville, featured students involved in fraternities, sororities, Residence Life and Campus Programming and Relations. The members of the court earned points by attending Homecoming events and earning votes cast by the students.
The victory came down to two votes and winners Taylor Ritchey, Assistant Resident Director of Rountree Commons, and Shelby Faherty of Gamma Phi Beta were coronated.
Additionally, Sigma Epsilon and Kappa Alpha Sigma won homecoming as they had the most participation in events and highest scores in house decorations in addition to the banner ceremony.
The homecoming football game between the UW-Platteville Pioneers and UW-Stevens Point featured Alumni in Color Guard as well as the Marching Band.
The week-long event concluded with the tradition of lighting the “M” on the Platteville Mound. Community members, students and alumni were all together to participate in a unique college tradition.
