More than 50 representatives from UW-Platteville and Southwest Wisconsin Technical College held a meeting to strengthen the collaboration of the two institutions to benefit and empower students On March 1.
“This was an extremely productive meeting with an incredible collaborative energy and spirit throughout,” said Dr. Wayne Weber, UW-Platteville Interim Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. “The focus was on increasing awareness and streamlining pathways for students transferring from SWTC to UW-Platteville.”
The meeting resulted in key objectives of collaboration being established, including a streamlined transfer process, enhanced awareness of 4-year opportunities, recruiting and marketing strategies and co-advising opportunities, creating clear pathways to ever-changing career markets and creating initiatives that benefit both institutions as well as the community.
“This collaborative endeavor underscores the shared commitment of SWTC and UW-Platteville to empower students, strengthen educational pathways and drive positive change in the region,” said Weber. “It benefits both institutions and most importantly, it benefits Southwest Wisconsin and the tri-state area.”
