Former Sun Prairie school resource officer, Lamont Crockett, 35, plead guilty to child enticement and exposure on Sept. 18 at the Dane County Courthouse as part of a plea agreement.
In return for Crockett pleading guilty, the Dane County District Attorney’s office agreed to dismiss two other child sex charges against Crockett.
According to a criminal complaint, Crockett was arrested in Aug. 2023 after a person reported being assaulted by him during their time in high school. The person claimed that he was 16 years old in 2017 when he had a “sexual encounter” with Crockett. Additionally, he made claims that Crockett admitted to “sleeping with other kids.”
The other charge against Crockett followed a different minor alleging Crockett had showed them pictures of himself and other people having sex when Crockett was working as a Big Brother in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program.
Both charges were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
Before his time with the Sun Prairie Police Department, he worked as a security officer with the University of Wisconsin-Madison Police Department. Crockett previously worked with the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation as a Medicaid investigator but was placed on leave following his arrest.
Crockett’s hearing was scheduled for Sept. 26, where the former school resource officer was sentenced to four years in prison, as well as four additional years of extended supervision. Crockett’s name will also appear on the lifetime sex offender registry.
