Over 120 terabytes of child sex abuse material were seized by investigators from a residence in Northern California on Feb. 20.
The operation, conducted by the Solano County Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with Solano County Probation and the Vacaville Police Department, also led to the confiscation of more than 20 computers, a server and multiple anti-forensic and hacking tools at the home in Vallejo.
About one terabyte of data is roughly 120 hours with of high-definition footage. That would mean roughly 14400 hours, or 600 days, worth of material was seized from the house at a minimum.
Investigators had received a search warrant to investigate the home following suspicion that the Vallejo resident was distributing and selling child pornography. The name of the Vallejo resident who was served the search warrant has not been released by authorities.
The investigation originated from a previous Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement Street sweep, part of an ongoing initiative to combat sexual assault crimes.
The sheriff’s office announced that its Investigations Bureau has launched Internet Crimes Against Children cases, now led by a dedicated full-time investigator.
Officials have not disclosed any additional information regarding potential arrests or charges connected to the case.
