Over 50 years ago, a German woman stole the capital, or top, of a doric column of a guest house named Leonidaion, dated back to the 4th century BC, measuring in at 9 inches tall, and about 13 inches wide. It has remained missing for 50 years until recently when the woman returned it to its rightful home. The Greek Ministry of Culture praised the woman for her sensitivity and courage to return the artifact, sharing “It’s never too late to do the right thing” in the social media post. This is one of three artifacts the ministry has acquired in the past few months as more artifacts are being returned to Greece.
