Brightness creeps in like a plague
I have been awake for an hour
Staring
Seeing you at peace for once
The blanket never goes past your neck
Even in REM you are particular
I intertwine my fingers in dark locks
They dance around them
Like the ends of rope that need to be tied
Giving me a blank stare
You reach one arm out
Which is my signal
I hear a thump that never misses a beat
My right eye can only see dark
The left gets one view
My favorite blurry chin
