One day I am going to be awoken by the sun
I had canceled all my alarms the night before
And slept in till the sun had other plans
But I woke up and felt relaxed

On this day I will rise and head to the kitchen
I will make a pot of coffee
Looking at my calendar and see nothing
I sip my coffee and feel happiness

And as this day goes on I will have baked a bunch of cookies
Until I see that it is raining
I will shut off the oven and run outside
I will stand in the rain and feel peace

I think about this day whenever life gets too much
When I want to end it all
I know one day I will get to have that day
It isn’t an amazing hope or dream
But a simple day can heal much
And provide so much hope
