What is it?
The ROV team at UW-Platteville strives to model a real life company and is composed of a business and engineering team. We compete in the Mate ROV competition which is based off of real life tasks that are completed in waterways across the United States by underwater robots.
Each year, teams are presented with new challenges to overcome. Mate ROV competitions consist of the pool run (the physical competition with the robot), a technical report (documentation detailing designs and safety of the robot), a poster (promoting the ROV Team) and a presentation (highlighting the amazing work our team has done and answering the judges questions).
To excel in all of the challenges that we are presented with, our ROV team is run like a company.
We have both a business side and an engineering side that lean on each other for support while completing tasks. We use management structure in both teams to efficiently and effectively assign and complete work as needed. No matter what major you are studying at UW-Platteville, the ROV team is an amazing way to gain experience in a company setting. We offer engineering and business experience along with management and leadership experience.

Who can join?
Anyone can join but most work revolves around Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Programming and Business.

Upcoming Events
No upcoming events, just weekly meetings.

Meetings
Weekly meetings are on Mondays at 6:00 p.m. in Busby Hall Room 126.

Note from the president
ROV is a great way to gain experience working in a company setting. It also allows you to put being a student as your number one priority. Being a part of the team is just committing to a couple hours a week. Come and check us out at our weekly meetings and we would be more than happy to show you what we are designing.
