What is your organization:
Our organization is the Pioneer Maker Club. We are a group of students who like to make things! We primarily focus on 3D printing but also do almost every other type of craft. From leatherworking to electronics to knitting to metalworking we try and teach people about them! Our club offers weekly events for any students to attend. Recently we held an event where our members made resin dice for Dungeons and Dragons and other games. In addition to those events, members of our club who have paid the $10.00 door access fee can use their student ID to get access to our club room! There we have materials and tools members can use at no additional cost to make whatever they would like! There are also always people hanging out in the lab if you want to work on projects with others!
Who can join?
Our club is open to everyone! All majors and skill levels are welcome. Each weekly event we try to explain what to do from the ground up. We also are more than happy to teach members how to use any equipment in the lab (3D printers especially).
Any upcoming events?
This next week (on 9/26) we are holding a competition to see who can make the farthest-flying paper airplane! We also plan on hosting our annual Bridgeway 500 (A modified pinewood derby) in the next few weeks. Some of the other events we plan on doing this semester include human-sized cardboard boat races in the school pool, a stained glass workshop, and a leatherworking workshop.
When are your meetings?
We meet every week in EGH 233 at 7:00 pm on Wednesdays. Our lab space (EGH 235) is also always open to members and people frequently hang out there!
