No legal discussion directly regarding the termination of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Facebook page has occurred between Student Senate members.
For termination, there would be have to be a number of student complaints to the Student Senate for them to take action with UW-Platteville administration to move forward in having it removed.
Student Senate’s official statement is that they currently have a neutral opinion about the page and they are not endorsing the website, but are extending caution.
On the Student Senate Facebook page, it states, “We fully support your right to freedom of speech as outlined in the First Amendment, but we would fail to remain neutral if posts continue to contain words regarding criminal acts, hate crimes, and/or defamation of character.”
