Exponent staff members earned four individual awards at the 2014 Associated Collegiate Press Best of the Midwest Newspaper Convention held in Minneapolis, Minn., on Sunday.
More than 200 students from several dozen colleges attended the convention and entered work into the contests.
Web Editor Colten Bartholomew won first place in the editorial/commentary category for his column on Coca-Cola’s Super Bowl commercial, and took fourth place in the feature story category for his story on journalist LZ Granderson’s November visit to Platteville.
Editor-In-Chief Shelby Le Duc won first place for a news photo for her photograph of Nathan Hataj and Tu Phan at October’s variety show.
General Assignment Reporter Rachael Shaff took third place in the feature story category for her story on Jill Herring, a Univerity of Wisconsin-Platteville student and champion kick-boxer.
