LAE internal department restructuring
At the (date) Faculty Senate meeting, College of Liberal Arts and Education (LAE) Dean Melissa Gormley reported on upcoming changes to some departments in that college.
The Health and Human Performance program (HHP) will move out from the School of Education to again become an independent department in the fall of 2020.
This comes after a four-year stint under the School of Education due to a staff and administration deficit in 2016.
Criminal Justice and Social Sciences departments will merge. Gormley says that the logistics behind this combination should be completed by July.
According to Dr. Travis Nelson, the Social Sciences Department Chair, a proposed name for this new department is the “Department of Criminal Justice and Social Sciences.”
