What is your organization?
We are the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, we focus on bringing opportunities to students to work on unique engineering projects, gain professional development from industry professionals and peers, compete against schools in EFx events, and overall gain and become apart of a community of amazing people here at UW-Platteville. Our members have a deep passion for trying to figure out the things they don’t understand, and building something, from nothing.
Who can join?
Anyone can join! Whether you’re Mechanical, Electrical, Engineer Physics, Business, Environmental, or any other major, we have a project that you can benefit from! Whether it be from projects, professional development, or leadership, we have things you can learn and develop for your future career.
Any upcoming events?
Coming up this semester we have company tours, company presentations, socials, work nights, and a whole lot more! Check out our Pioneerlink or Instagram to keep up to date with what’s what.
When are your meetings?
ASME has one general business meeting on the first Wednesday of each month at 5 PM in Busby 115. All other weeks, join ASME for talks or tours from companies, project debriefs, socials, and more!
Note from the President:
Here at ASME, we love tackling challenges that push us beyond what we already know. We collaborate, share knowledge, and grow together—that’s how we manage to achieve things we’ve never done before. It takes initiative from every one of us to embrace learning and explore new possibilities. If you’re ready to step outside your comfort zone and take on new challenges, ASME might just be the perfect place for you.
