The Pioneers (6-2, 3-2 WIAC) defeated the Blugolds of University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire 24-17 at Carson Park.
This was the Pioneers first win at UW-Eau Claire since 1995.
The Pioneers used a solid running game to down the Blugolds. Senior Hank McIvor had 19 carries for 95 yards.
Sophomore quarterback Bryce Corrigan had 278 yards, two touchdowns and completed 35 of 47 passes.
The Pioneers defense held the Blugolds to just two conversions on 13 attempts.
Because University of Wisconsin-Whitewater losing Oct. 27, if the Pioneers win the rest of their games, there is a solid chance of the team making the NCAA Division III Football Championship Tournament.
The Pioneers next game is Saturday at 2 p.m. at Ralph E. Davis Pioneer Stadium.
