Ballroom Dancing Club open for all students

The Ballroom Dance Club offers the opportunity for University of Wisconsin-Platteville students to make new friends and learn new dance styles.

The club is not just for dancers.  Anyone looking to meet new people is welcome.

The club meets at 7 p.m. in room 117 Russell Hall and membership dues are $10.00 per semester.

Biology major Sarah Brink said she has cherished her time in the club.

“I have always been interested in dance, and by learning these new dances, I feel more elegant and self-confident,” Brink said.  “I am also involved in Swing Club and the experience here at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville has been wonderful.”

Most club members agreed that being in the Ballroom Dancing club allows them to have a better experience at UW-Platteville.

Jordan Anderson, a Media Studies major with a public relations emphasis said the club offers her a chance to get involved on campus.

”I have always said that if I can’t dance, I can’t live,” Anderson said.  “This club not only allows me to dance but to make new friends as well.”

Diannelle Erot, an Ornamental Horticulture major, said she discovered the club when she saw a poster and talked with a friend about it.

“I have learned to dance the cha-cha, two-step and the fox trot,” Erot said.  “Not only did I enjoy learning these dances, but this club allowed me to meet new people who are out of my comfort zone.”
