Bar owner arrested, charged with battery

Platteville police charged and arrested a Platteville bar owner for battery after an officer observed a male bleeding on Second Street early Friday morning.

Chief of Police Doug McKinley said there is currently no known cause of the conflict between Dale R. Jacobs, 48, that injured Bradley Aschilman, 23, of Barneveld. The cause will be known after reviewing footage from a security camera located at Second and Main.

“We get a lot of this [on Second Street],” McKinley said.  “What we try to do is take a zero tolerance stance when it comes to fighting or with behaviors that lead to fighting.”

An ambulance transferred Aschilman to Southwest Health Center for an emergency room visit. He was discharged that night.

Jacobs was relocated to Grant County Jail.

On Sept. 13, Jacobs received his third disorderly conduct offense, McKinley said.  Jacobs owns and operates Brothers, Players, Camaraderie, and Schoolgirlz on Second Street.
