According to Media Technology Services’ Russell Hill it is the highest amount fundraised that he has seen in the last decade.

The televised fundraiser, which was held on the ground floor of the Pioneer Tower, collected more than $65,000 in donations last year, according to Badger Camp Executive Director Brent Bowders.

In 2011, the Telethon collected more than $66,000.

Next year will be the last Telethon held at UW-Platteville, according to Public Information Officer Paul Erickson.

The university is looking into innovative alternatives to fundraise for Badger Camp, a non-profit organization that sends developmentally disabled adults and children to summer camp just south of the Wisconsin River near Prairie Du Chien.
