Break-in, attempted robbery leave University Police with no suspects
The University Police Department is still investigating a break-in and attempted robbery that occurred at the university and no suspects have been found.
On April 1, a break-in occurred at Royce Hall, where $8,000 worth of electronics was stolen from the ResNet office.
The perpetrator(s) broke a lock on a back door of Royce Hall and may have used it several times.
At approximately 8:45 p.m. on April 3, an attempted robbery occurred between Doudna Hall and the Center for the Arts.
The woman was able to get away without injury and report the crime to the police around 9:30 p.m.
Although there was an Emergency Call Box nearby, she did not use it to contact the police.
A campus-wide email from Chief of Police Scott Marquardt mentioned that the female described the offender as “a male, taller than 5’10” with dark hair, wearing a dark top.”
Marquardt declined to disclose any further information about these crimes at this time.
To provide further information about either of these crimes, contact the University Police Department at (608) 342-1584.
A more detailed report of the crimes will be found in the April 17 edition of the Exponent.
