The new online resource, YOU@UW-Platteville, is designed to help UW-Platteville students deal with any issues they might have in their academic career and get them connected to others that can help.

“It’s based around three domains: academics and career, physical and mental health and connections to campus,” according to Coordinator for Student Case Management, Rya Adler. The domains are broken into three categories on the website: succeed, thrive and matter.

“If [students] log in to YOU@College, students will receive a questionnaire, [with] quick questions to answer, and then the platform will connect them to resources that meet their unique needs,” Adler said.

The questionnaires are confidential and connect students to “a slew of resources” including, but not limited to, help with sleep, stress, money, finding a major or program, sexual health, self-exploration, academic goals and forwarding their career path.

The source of these resources varies widely as well, with not only on-campus resources, but also guides from experts, goals to set for one’s self and posts from other students to help along the way. “A lot of these are research-based sources and articles,” Adler added. “It’s all been vetted by professional psych and higher education.”

In addition to connecting students to resources to help them forward their college career, YOU also includes the ability to connect students to a therapist or counselor. This is powered by Mantra, and lets students connect with both on-campus therapists as well as extended resources through telehealth.

YOU also gives students access to crisis help which Adler states will “connect students to support in thirty seconds,” which is provided by UW Mental Health Support 24/7.
