Tammy Evetovich Named Chancellor

The University of Wisconsin Board of Regents announced on April 25 that Dr. Tammy Evetovich had been named the 15th Chancellor of UW-Platteville.

Dr. Evetovich has been a part of the UW-Platteville administration team since May 2020, starting as the Provost and Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs.

Before her arrival here, she had taught and had held numerous administrative positions at Wayne State College in Nebraska for 20 years.

During her time as a professor at Wayne State, Dr. Evetovich received numerous accolades for her contributions in the field of physical wellness and health, including the “National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Outstanding Young Investor in 2002… the senior associate editor for the NSCA’s Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research and …the journal’s Editorial Excellence Award” per her biography on the UW-Platteville website.

Alongside her academic accolades and numerous published research projects, Dr. Evetovich had assisted in the development of Wayne College’s Rural Law Opportunities Program and Rural Health Opportunities Program.

Dr. Evetovich arrived at UW-Platteville in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and assisted in adapting to distance learning. At the beginning of 2022, from February to April, Dr. Evetovich became the interim Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services on top of her established post as Provost and Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs.

Dr. Evetovich had served as interim Chancellor since June 1, 2022, after former Chancellor Dennis J Shields had been chosen as the new president of the Southern University System in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Per the UW System news release, Dr. Evetovich’s yearly salary will be $265,000.
