Wrestling competes in Pennsylvania

Since returning to Platteville Jan. 2, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team competed in one tournament and multiple duals.

Mile Uliana, a freshman at the 157 pound weight class, volunteered at Luxemburg-Casco High School in his home town to stay in shape over break.

“I went to the high school [wrestling] room and took a leadership role,” Uliana said.

After days of intense workouts, the wrestling team traveled 16 hours to Collegeville, Pa., for the Will Abele Invitation on Jan. 12.  A total of 13 teams participated in the invitational.  Ferguson and junior 174 pound Austin Holland took second place in their brackets and helped the team finish sixth of 13.

“It was good to see different people and wrestling different teams from the east coast we wouldn’t normally see,” Walters said.
