CPR hosts second annual Pioneer Feud

For the second year in a row, the university holds a spin-off game of Family Feud

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s Campus Programming and Relations held the second annual Pioneer Feud on April 11.

This year’s Pioneer Feud had an additional twist from the traditional Family Feud, as the teams were allowed “lifelines” to use throughout the game.

Participants were able to “phone a friend” among the audience for assistance, “pass” the question to the next player or choose a “50/50” chance, which narrowed the choices down to only two answers.

The Mudpuppies, first-time Pioneer Feud attendees and winning team, stated that they enjoyed hearing the list of answers, despite whether their answers were right or wrong.
When asked to “name something one could find in the freezer,” the winning answer was “dead bodies.”

Some team members gave sarcastic answers to some of the questions, which enhanced the game’s overall effect and issued a series of laughs throughout the entire room.

For example, when the team members of Captain Crunch and Cereal Killers were asked, “Who do you call when you are in trouble,” one group answered “the Ghostbusters,” among some of the more common answers, such as “mom,” “dad” and “the police.”

Masees Mesdjian, a senior industrial engineering major and the host for Pioneer Feud, mentioned that his favorite aspect of the event this year was the room.

“It [Doudna 136] was a really good venue for this event,” Mesdjian said.
